Types of Ergonomic Grips
The dexterity of the hand is generally defined under two categories; power grips and precision grips.
Power Grip
“A power grip is a grip formed with the fingers and the palm of the hand in order to move or manipulate objects. Power grips are high force and low precision movements because they use the bulk of the hand for force generation rather than the strength of individual fingers.”
Pinch Grip
“Precision, unlike power grips are used with the intention of increased control as opposed to increased strength. a form of precision grip where by an object is pinched between the flat surface of the fingers and the opposing thumb.”
